The Lapmaster line of single side planetary fine grinding machines are specially designed and built to withstand extreme conditions within a production environment while requiring minimal maintenance. These units are available with fine grinding platens from 24" up to 40" in diameter, and are specially configured for each application. Depending upon the application, these machines utilize fixed abrasive diamond or CBN suspended in resin, metal, and vitrified bonds to grind a wide range of materials to very tight specifications.

Lapmaster single side fine grinding machines incorporate pneumatic lift assemblies to automatically apply the programmed down pressure to the work pieces, and include water cooled sub platens for optimum throughput. These machines are set up for semi-automated operation through PLC control systems capable of multi-step programmable plate speeds, down pressure, coolant feed, and pneumatic drop table for quick machine loading and unloading.

One available machine option includes a full coolant delivery and recycling system with temperature control. The grinding plate is also temperature controlled. Coolant is fed through fixed spray arms onto the grinding plate and then collected in a stand-alone recirculating filtration system capable of removing particulates <2um in diameter. A separate chiller controls the temperature of both the grinding plates and the coolant during machine operation, guaranteeing thermal stability of the system throughout the process.
